“The Journey Continues.”

Freedom Walk 2026 is a national walking pilgrimage honoring historic routes of liberation associated with Harriet Tubman, the Underground Railroad, and the continuing work of racial healing and reconciliation in America.

Traveling approximately twelve miles per day, Freedom Walk participants journey north through multiple states toward Canada, symbolically retracing the continued paths taken by freedom seekers who moved beyond United States borders in pursuit of safety and liberation.

The New York City gathering marks the sacred halfway point of this national journey.

Rather than a final destination, New York serves as a moment of rest, witness, and recommitment before walkers continue north through New York State and ultimately cross into Canada by boat on July 4th.
